Smog
TecHelp has been doing training since 1992 and provides short-term training, smog training, and long-term training. Ask one of Tec-Help's representatives about short- and long-term classes.
Smog classes available to qualify for the state smog test and/or repair test:
- 68 hour Level 1 Course
- 40 hour Level 2 Course
- 16 hour 2013 Update Training Course
- 80-90 hour Bar Specified Diagnostic and Repair Training Course (alternative).
(This course takes the place of the A-6 Electrical, A-8 Engine Performance and L-1 Advanced Engine Performance alternative courses)
NOTE!
- National ASE Certifications A-6, A-8 and L-1 are also accepted by the State
- 2019-2020 schedule pending
Starting August 1, 2012, the Bureau of Automotive Repair has changed the technician license structure. Individuals will be able to get Test and Repair licenses, but they will have 2 new options, Test Only Technician and Repair Only Technician. Qualifying classes to take the state test vary with the new licenses depending on experience, etc. Call Tec-Help for details.
